The Umbrella of Hope foundation supports children from socially and financially weak backgrounds in Nyeri (Kenya). We consciously choose children who live in a family situation, often these are incomplete families, sometimes the children live with family. In Kenya, primary education is free, not free are the costs for the compulsory school uniform, for school materials such as pens and notebooks or the costs for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education tests. For many parents, these are major costs.

Parents are often aware of the opportunities that education offers, but poverty forces them to make other choices. In close cooperation with the team of the Githwariga Primary School, we determine who can use our facilities.

In this way we try to contribute to a suitable and completed education for children in Nyeri-Kenya.
